Being able to retire with money, health & general hapiness is everyone’s aspiration – but for many of us this might not happen. Let us look at how our modern lifestyle influences our health.
The lifestyle many of us live today is not ideal. We are very busy, don’t have time to cook, or even eat properly. We don’t drink enough of water. Instead, we eat food with a lot of calories, too much sugar and fat and low in nutrients. This makes us overfed but ||undernourished. We experience much more stress than our grandparents did.
People don’t exercise enough. They sit most of the time: both during their work and during their spare time.
There are some Key facts from the World Health Organization. Worldwide obesity has more than doubled since 1980. In 2008, more than 1.4 billion adults, 20 and older, were overweight. Of these over 200 million men and nearly 300 million women were obese. More than 40 million children under the age of five were overweight in 2010. 65% of the world's population live in countries where overweight and obesity kills more people than starvation or malnutrition. Obesity is preventable.
Five big killers in UK are heart disease, stroke, cancer, lung and liver disease. All of them are preventable.
